What is the structure of the Surcharge and how can customers track the index we use?

In March of 2015, Spinnaker instituted a per-MSI freight surcharge added to all Roll product invoices, based on the Bureau of Labor Statistics LTL Freight Price Index (data series PCU484122484122).

The surcharge may be adjusted quarterly on the first day of the month following the publication of the updated index (typically 3 weeks after the end of a calendar quarter).

If you or customers wish to access this price index series, go to http://data.bls.gov/timeseries/pcu484122484122?output_view=pct_3mths and choose “Other formatting options”.
The table provided below indicates how the surcharge could change, depending on the index reading. As stated above, we will review this index quarterly and adjust the surcharge accordingly.


11/1/2022 - Current index rate is at 242.788. Based on this, our freight surcharge will reduce to $.010/msi for Q4 2022.
