TIP #5 Film Constructions and Printing Defects

One of the most common reasons for print hickies on film constructions is not always related to slitter dust. In many case, it can be traced back to housekeeping. Dirt, dust, paper and core fibers around the unwind can be attracted to the web as the result of static. Film products can generate an extraordinary amount of static very quickly. Keeping your unwind area clean and using copper tinsel, tack cloths or other web cleaners will greatly reduce your chances of having to do a major cleanup.
